Using Images

About Images == You can upload images to use in your work. We ask, however, that you edit down image sizes in order to keep the wiki running smoothly.

A fairly decent large image might be around 500 pixels by 500 pixels. May digital cameras take pictures in the 1000 by 1000 pixel range.

You can use Photoshop, any basic image editing program that comes with Microsoft's latest operating system, or any number of free, online image editors to change image sizes.

To upload an image to the wiki:

  • On the left side of the wiki, where it says toolbox, you see Upload file.
  • Click that link
  • Use the Browse button to find the image on your computer.
  • Click the Upload File button.

To put the image on your page:

  • Go to the page where you want the picture to be
  • Click edit
  • Type in the code to link to the picture.
  • The code looks like this: Image:Example.jpg (Replace example with the name of your picture)
  • Save the page

To put brief commentary with the image:

  • Use the following code but remove the Example.jpg and Example Text. Put in your own information. The "left" direction can also be changed to "right."
