6/10- I feel that Cultural Literacy has to be gained on your own. Not everyone wants that. I dont think that its anyones responsibility to make you learn out side of the basic stuff that grade school teaches you. You learn through trying thins out and experiancing the world.

CRITICAL LITERACY:

  • Critical literacy means being able to apply your education, the literature you read, the knowledge you've gained and the every day events of your life.

TIPS FOR ENHANCED CRITICAL LITERACY:

  • Attend meetings and seminars dealing with broad or contraversal topics.
  • Be open to people of different colors, cultures and religions.
  • Strive for knowledge-no matter where you are at in your life.
  • Make a conscious effort to expand your horizons on a daily basis.
  • Read for the sake of reading (for pleasure).
  • Form opinions about what you have read.
  • Relate things you've read to everyday situations in your life.
