Response to Chapter 10
From Mizzou Wiki
Joseph Williams summed up what he was getting at in chapter 10. A reader always wants an easy read, something they can understand and learn forom. But of course, it is up to the writer to dot that for them. The style of each writing has to be " no simpler than they deserve, but no harder than they require." This chapter speaks about how many writers write with obscurity or cloudiness. They have complicated their writing unintended. And some even do it deliberately, which is a big mistake.
You learn that writers who obscure their work unintended or purposely have a chance of losing much more than just their audience's attention, but the writer losses his or her writing ethics. The style is a lot to a paper. It is the sole way how people can read, understand, and remember the writing. It is the writer's job to clear their work and make it appropriate for the audience. It shouldn't be our job to decode a piece of work to understand it. Many writers use style to avoid what they are really trying to say also. For example, instead of admitting they have committed a mistake, they may say a mistake just occurred. All of these ways or maybe problems in writing, is a particular style.
I believe that style is the most important part of a paper, I think it is every writer's obligation to direct us through their work and keep us interested. A style should be well though out for each different piece of work. If a writer has mastered a style for his writing that best communicates to the people and his audience, than the writer is victorious.
