What is style? This is one of the hardest characteristics of a writing to categorize. This chapter tries to, by placing styles in categories such as politics, medicinal, factual, and more, but also say the meaning of these categories. But i believe that many writings can't be categorized because there is a unique style to each particular one. Style is such a broad word that has much open space to explain, which is why it is that much harder to define, but by far style is the most interesting character of a writing. It plays on of the biggest roles in a journal, paper, or a novel. The style of a writer is what creates the audience that reads the work, it generates the attention, and the most important part, it is the signature of a writer. But, true, a unique style of writing is not enough to make a successful paper. Though,"Writings fail for reasons more serious than unclear sentences", which explains how it is the style and technique of a paper which determines the paper.

So lastly, I agree with chapter 1 because it explains how perfect grammatical sentences and criteria is not enough, and it shouldn't be, it should be your ideas flowing through your pen. Later writers should return to their draft and edit, and definitely make it clear to the audience. The expression of your work is what matters the most, and how you display your message.
