Why write?

A legitimate question, especially when studies show that fewer people now read books and periodicals than ever before in the modern era.

But even if people aren't reading as many books, magazines, or newspapers, they're still "reading" what writers have written. (i.e. Theorists often consider TV programs as texts to be read.)

So where is writing happening nowadays? What do you read? Where do you write? How do you write?

As what we read and write changes, does how we think change too?

Who are some of your favorite writers? Why?

How do you see the future of writing? How do you see yourself as a current and future writer?

Why do you write?
