Hey y’all…A friend of mine sent me a link to this website and I was glad to see that so many students really GET the story “Coal Smoke.” It took me a long time to get that one published because a lot of editors did NOT get it. And now it’s probably my most widely read short story. Anyway, thanks to you all for reading the story and for talking about it and for understanding it. What a great class…wish I could take it.
