Brisingr

Posted in Uncategorized on December 3rd, 2008

I have recently started a book called Brisingr by Christopher Paolini who wrote his first book at 15 which surprisingly became a new york times best seller. his love of fantasy inspired him to write a 4 book series about a dragon rider named Eragon. It’s a story of boy who finds a dragon egg and it hatches for him and he then becomes more powerful than he could possible imagine and it’s amazingly well written, but you’ll have to read the book to know anymore. I would like to talk about Paolini’s ability to create pictures of the setting in the minds of the reader. he’s quite amazing with his diction and how before a scene he’ll use a whole page or even two to describe the setting to the reader. quite amazing actually. This book you could classify as a fantasy. it’s in third and 1st person, but the diction and syntax is insane.

Breaking Dawn Is Finished…!

So I finished Breaking Dawn By Stephanie Meyer it was INSANE…!!! Not only is her diction second to none, but you find yourself getting lost in the in the book. Stephanie Meyer uses this distinct way of writing to entrap her readers. usually what’s used is 1st person point of view which allows the reader to see through the authors eyes or the “character” who is speaking. anyways it was an amazing book and I loved it… :)

Uses Points of View in Twilight

Stephanie Meyer in her book Breaking Dawn uses a distinct way of writer that encaptures the reader. She uses the point of view of the person in the book as a way to persuade the reader to feel a certain way. For Example in her book she changes the perspective of the author about a 1/3 of the way through the book. it goes from that of Bella, a hurt fragile character that’s is in love to, at the point of change, Jacob a hurt angry adolescent that’s also in love but from a completely different perspective. Bella is in love and is loved, while Jacob is in love but the love he feels is not returned. From these two different views the book turns a complete 180 degrees. Yet, because she is such an impressive writer it’s still the kind of view her audience enjoys.I also picked up a book by Christopher Paolini called “Brisingr” I haven’t started it yet but it should be a very good read…! I’m excited and will delve into that as I begin to read it

About Twilight

This week I was reading a book called Breaking Dawn It’s the 4th book in the twilight series and I’ve got to say so far that it’s just as amazing as the 1st 2nd and 3rd one. the books are about a girl that falls in love with a vampire. yah I know what your thinking, what a girl I must be, but there really good books. The girls name is Bella and she falls into this dangerous relationship with this boy named Edward who is extremely secretive and just will not reveal who he is or what his family is like. Then finally Bella finds out who he is because when she’s about to get hit by a car he inhumanly jumps in front of her and pulls her out of the way. it’s really a great book so far and I’ll be updating you as the book goes on… :)
